The last variety is Gros and is the coarsest grind of them all. Gros snuffs tend to be heavily flavored and can be a bit difficult to use. It takes a fair amount of sniffing to get Gros varieties of snuff in the right place in the nose but once it’s there, the scent can last for quite a while. Types like German Schmaltzers are classified as Gros varieties and are highly prized among nasal snuff aficionados. |
